South Asia 2017

In 2017, we have a brand new partnership to work among a Muslim ethnic group in a city in South Asia.  This ethnic group is an Unreached People Group (UPG), which means that no measurable percentage have ever even heard the name of Jesus.

To meet this need, we are sending 2 teams this year – one in March and one in July. Our teams will spread the gospel by doing storying evangelism in marketplaces, prayerwalking Muslim districts, and building portable baptisteries so that new followers of Jesus can be baptized in secret.

Please be in prayer for our March team, that they travel safely and that the Lord works mightily through them in this very dark place! If you are interested in learning more about this new partnership, or if you would like to accompany us in July, contact us in the Missions Office!

Serve Saturday 2017

Planning is already underway for our 6th Annual Serve Saturday, and with more campuses than ever, we will be able to have a greater impact than ever! Last year, we sent over 1,300 volunteers into the community to provide relief in the wake of heavy flooding, and this year we plan to send even more volunteers out to serve in beautification projects, homeless ministry, block parties, carwashes, and more! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 22, from 9am-1pm, and keep an eye on the Worship Folder, as signups will begin in mid-March!

The Many Faces of Mentoring at CFBC

Few things make such an impact on the life of a child or a teenager as consistent, one-on-one time with a mentor. Many of us are able to remember the adults in our lives who served as turning points because they took the time to show us the love of Christ through intentional time.

There are several ways to get involved in the lives of the kids in our community through CFBC. We currently have a presence at 6 schools in Spring, Klein and Cy-Fair ISDs, and there are opportunities to mentor in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese! Mentors commit to 30 minutes each week during the school day.  There is also an after school opportunity through the Jersey Village Campus.

If you feel called to have a presence in the life of an older child, CFBC has a partnership with Sheltering Harbor – a home for middle and high school aged children in the foster system. Mentors should commit to 6months-1year of doing life with their mentee and being a consistent presence and reminder of the love of Christ!

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, contact us in the Missions Office!

Nursing Home Outreach for Life Groups

There is a huge mission field right here in our community that many of us   overlook without even knowing it. Right around the corner from many of our homes, there are thousands of nursing home residents who are unable to attend church and who have no gospel or discipleship presence in their lives. CFBC has a new partnership with Pathways Memory Care, a facility just minutes away from the Champions Campus. They are in desperate need of volunteers to come on Sundays, or any time throughout the week, to provide small, simple services for their residents. This is something that could easily be done by a Life Group on a monthly or weekly basis, and a few minutes could go a long way in meeting a very legitimate need in the lives of some of our community’s most cherished and forgotten residents.

If your Life Group is in need of a weekend service opportunity and you are interested in this one, let us know!
