On Mission – September 2015

Training Leaders in Havana

The CFBC Missions department is pleased to announce an exciting new mission trip!  Recent government changes have made the borders of Cuba more open than they have ever been, and we are taking full advantage of the change to bring a team of 11 members from the Conroe Campus into the streets and churches of Havana this November!

For years, the oppressive communist government of Cuba has made it difficult if not impossible for local pastors to be given the training that they need, and for them to bring the gospel into the lives of the people in their communities.

This year’s team will work with a local pastor and his wife to provide basic discipleship training to their congregation. They will also help to provide evangelism and worship music training at a conference involving over 100 Cuban churches!  Please pray for the team as they embark on this rare and exiting opportunity to water ground that has been dry for so long!

For more information on how to pray for this team, or to go on the trip next year, please call the Missions Office at 281-885-6784

On Mission in Santiago

Last Saturday, a group of ladies from CFBC traveled to Santiago, Chile, to work with our church plant there. They spent the week helping our church planter, Julian Pizarro, and his wife Jessica as they pour the love of Jesus into their community. They also spent the week teaching at Santiago Christian Academy, as well as sharing the gospel through crafts at nursing homes and praying with patients at hospitals. They were even fortunate enough to lead one hospital patient to faith in Jesus, and give her a Bible.

On Wednesday, while our team was in Santiago, a very large earthquake struck Chile and caused a huge amount of damage.  Our team is safe, and we are trusting that this was the Lord’s timing to give them even more opportunity to share Jesus with people who are in need!

Please keep our team in your prayers as they are traveling back! Pray for the connections they made for Christ, that our church planters are able to follow up well and see people added to the kingdom!  Finally, pray for the people of Chile as they rebuild from the earthquake!

Upcoming 2016 Mission Trips!

2015 is drawing to a close faster than we think it is, and we are already looking forward to an exciting year of mission trips in 2016!  It is not too early for you to begin planning to go!  The first two trips of the year are to São Paulo, Brazil (January 4-12) and to South Asia (January 30-February 8).

The team to Brazil will be returning to work with a congregation there that is shining the gospel into neighborhoods enslaved by spiritism and drug culture.

The South Asian team will be returning to a mega city to work with an unreached Muslim people group through teaching in schools, prayer-walking Muslim districts, and doing marketplace evangelism.

Each of these trips cost in the neighborhood of $2500.  If you are interested in more details, be on the lookout in the Worship Folder for meeting dates, or call the Missions office!
