Thankful for 2015
What a great year the Lord has given us here at CFBC! He has given us opportunity after opportunity to love people with His love, not only in our community, but across our country and across our world! In 2015, our church sent hundreds of volunteers on over 20 Mission trips – some of them to the most difficult-to-reach areas of the globe.
Through our partnerships, the Kingdom of God has continued to advance against the darkness in the world. We have seen young girls saved from human trafficking in Africa, as well as boys protected from recruitment to Islamic extremist groups like Al-Shabaab. Muslims in South Asia have come to faith in Christ and children in post-Christian Germany have learned the truth about Jesus. This year, teams from our church got the chance to train pastors at seminaries in Mozambique and provide much-needed discipleship to forgotten churches in Cuba.
Locally, hundreds of us volunteered to provide food to the homeless and help many off the street, and over a thousand of us “Left the Building” on a rainy Serve Saturday to go and bring the love of Jesus to our community by meeting tangible needs.
We want to thank you for choosing to follow Jesus down the street and around the globe this year! Thank you for being a part of the mission that shows people in even the darkest situations that hope is alive and well, and that His name is Jesus Christ!
Feed My Starving Children
This January, the Lord has given CFBC a huge opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of children worldwide! Each day, over 6,000 children around the world die from starvation and starvation-related diseases. While this number is daunting, the Lord is using organizations like Feed My Starving Children to provide hope.
Every year, Feed My Starving Children packs and sends millions of meals across the globe, and places them in the hands of missionaries who are working among starving populations, bringing much-needed nutrition to thousands of communities.
Feed My Starving Children relies heavily on local churches to help them pack these meals, and on January 23, 2016, CFBC will be joining FMSC to pack over 150,000 meals to be sent overseas! We will be meeting that morning at 8am and serving in shifts throughout the morning in the Multi-purpose Building on the Cypress Creek Campus. Obviously, we will need all the help we can get! If you and your family are interested in being some of the 500 volunteers that we will need, sign up on the Missions Page of the CFBC website by looking for the Feed My Starving Children logo.
Salt Lake City Mission Trip
We are very pleased to announce that we have a new mission trip partnership for 2016! In June, we will be sending a team from CFBC to Salt Lake City, Utah, to share Jesus with Latter Day Saints communities. We will be working with Lighthouse Ministries as well as Utah Partnerships for Christ to receive training on sharing the truth about Jesus with the LDS population there. This year’s team will work with students in local high schools and colleges, as well as do city evangelism and prayer walking around Temple Square!
Please begin now to pray for the hearts of the people of Salt Lake City, and that the Lord would form the right team from our church to go and share the gospel! If you are interested in becoming part of the Utah team, or just want more details about the trip, don’t hesitate to call us in the Mission Office!
