On Mission – July 2015

Sharing Jesus on Long Island

One of the most exciting mission trips that CFBC sends out each year is the one we send to our church plant on Long Island. This week, a CFBC team has just wrapped up an exciting time of ministry to the community surrounding Crossroads Baptist Church. We were able to host a Kids Camp, and had the privilege of telling tons of children about the hope that is in Jesus Christ alone!
As with much of the Northeast, the culture on Long Island is very post-Christian, and millions of people live and die believing that stories of Jesus are no longer relevant. This week, our church assisted Crossroads in its mission to reveal the truth of the gospel.
Please be in prayer over the mission of crossroads, and all of the people, both young and old, who we got to tell about hope for the very first time!

KidsHope USA

CFBC has an exciting new local missions opportunity coming this Fall! We will begin a partnership with KidsHope USA, a local Christian organization that specializes in placing members of local churches into mentoring relationships with children at local elementary schools. CFBC will be sending mentors to Reynolds elementary to take part in this great opportunity to make a huge difference in the life of a child. If you are interested in mentoring for an hour/week for this coming school year, please contact us! 281-885-6784.

Students Leading out on Mission

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12 is exactly what the CFBC Student Ministry is teaching our young people to live out. They are gearing up to spend a week in Chicago, where they will get a chance to live out their faith in a big way. Our students will put feet to the gospel in some creative ways, from doing construction projects to programs for children and meeting other felt community needs. Above all, they will be able to share their faith wherever they go, because they spent the last year practicing how in FAITH evangelism!
At every turn, these students are proving that no one is too young to make bold strides for the kingdom of God! They know that the Lord is able to use anyone who desires to serve Him with a faithful heart.
Continue to pray for our students as they grow in the knowledge of God, and for our Student Ministry leaders as they continue to push them to be more like Christ!
For more information on what the students will be doing on mission, call 281-885-6784.

Alaska 2015

Three years ago, the Lord gave CFBC an exciting opportunity to partner with a church in a very needy and very unlikely area of the country. Catalyst Church in Anchorage, Alaska welcomes a team of CFBC members every summer to come alongside them and assist them in ministry. As the partnership has strengthened, we have been able to expand the way that we reach into the community each time. This year, we will be ministering to the people through prayer-walking and canvassing in neighborhoods, as well as hosting a block party for families, and a week’s worth of Bible clubs in the park so that children can come and learn about Jesus. Please be in prayer for the Alaska team as they are serving this week and seeking to bring the hope of Jesus Christ into a culture where most have never heard!
